Bio

Reflecting on her undergraduate years, Taylor Samuel recognized a stark absence of Black educators and embraced a mission to rectify this disparity by shifting her major to mathematics during her sophomore year at Sacred Heart University. Seeking to acquire a comprehensive foundation in the field of education, Taylor pursued a master's degree in Math Education with a focus on STEM integration at Hofstra University. Taylor is her fourth year of service within the field of education. She served three years as a high school math teacher, in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in Algebra I and Geometry, before advancing to her current role of Math Department Chair. Outside of her professional pursuits, Taylor finds balance through an active lifestyle, engaging in fitness activities and immersing herself in the exhilarating atmospheres of concerts and sporting events.
